Recommended Reads

I gave you a list of free reads for Valentine’s Day. Those were stories I hadn’t read yet. Here are some ebooks that I have read recently, and enjoyed. Three very different books by three very talented writers. Enjoy!

carnal-harvest
Carnal Harvest
Robin L. Rotham
Ellora’s Cave Publishing

Thanks to his spectacular ATV crash and lengthy convalescence, Hake Stivers missed out on a lot this fall—harvesting his crops, caring for his cattle, and most of all, giving his kinky little wife the kind of loving she deserves.
In an effort to ease his feelings of inadequacy and reward Mandy for helping out with chores, Hake asks his cousin Brent for a daring favor. Later that day, Brent and his friend Joe show up to fulfill Mandy’s edgiest submission fantasies while Hake watches from the sidelines.
But someone knows the truth—it’s not Mandy but Hake who needs to have his control stripped away, and that someone is determined to see that Hake gets exactly what he needs…whether he wants it or not.

oh-goddess
Oh Goddess
Gwen Hayes
Samhain Publishing

(Author and editor proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the Coalition for Pulminary Fibrosis.)

Ondina, one thousand years a goddess, doesn’t think much of mortal men. Probably because her sole purpose in life is to protect the hearts of women who don’t want to fall in love. And now one of those blasted men—Jack—has shattered her sacred chalice, trapping her in a mortal body.

Jackson Nichols, on the partner track at his law firm, is the first to admit he always follows his head. Never his heart. Dina is infuriating, messy, condescending, sexy, beautiful and…well, just about everything that doesn’t fit into his meticulously planned life.

Neither expects to find many redeeming qualities in the other. But when push comes to love, which will Dina choose? Her newly human heart…or one thousand years of duty?

called-by-blood

Called By Blood
Evie Byrne

The Faustin Bros., Book 1

Alexander Faustin is ready to settle down. He travels from NYC to sunny Colorado to find his destined bride. His delicate mission: to explain to her that vamps exist, that he happens to be one himself, and that he’d like her to be one, too. But the moment he lays eyes on Helena MacAllister, talk is the last thing on his mind.

It’s not like Helena to make out with a stranger on her front porch, much less invite him into her bed. Somehow Alex makes her feel safe, even while he’s dismantling her defenses. But in the wake of an accident, her faith in him is shattered. She learns her dream lover is a monster.

When a vampire betrays and terrifies his beloved, what can he offer her to make it up? Pancakes, of course. It’s a start, at least. And Alex has to think of the next step quick, because if Helena won’t take him back, he’ll never love again.

The Beginning

Do you suppose it means something that I’m starting my internet presence on a Friday the Thirteenth?

So, um, yeah. A blog. I’m not too sure about this, about actually having much of interest to say with any regularity, but we’ll see how it goes. You’ll have to blame my fabulous website designer, who was so pushy as to say “Are you sure you don’t want me to put one up? It’s easy to delete…”

Speaking of my brand spanking new website, isn’t it awesome!? Elle Media designed it, as you can see. Laurie sent me a few design options weeks ago and I immediately picked this one. I’ve just been dying to see it up for real and show it off. My coworkers can attest to my extremem impatience on this, but hopefully I didn’t annoy Laurie too much. I love it to pieces.

Now, the graphic might look slightly familiar to some of you. Last Saturday I was reading Samhain’s blog when I saw a post by Jenna Bayley-Burke about covers. And she showed her upcoming book, Compromising Positions. Go ahead, go look. Isn’t the cover gorgeous? Of course it is! Luckily, I’m a fan of Jenna’s and can’t wait to read Compromising Positions. She clearly has excellent taste!

For those of you visiting this site because you know me in real life and have no clue about this ebook thing, I suggest you visit the links page to see what it’s all about :-)

Feel free to let me know if you find any typos or mistakes or whatever. Or just say hi, that would work to :p
